This meetup featured a talk from Ranjit Sondhi, Vice Chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality and member of numerous national bodies tackling social justice. A lifelong advocate for social change, Ranjit has spent decades shaping policy and public life. After arriving in the UK on a scholarship, he set aside a career in Theoretical Physics to focus on grassroots activism, founding the Asian Resource Centre in Handsworth in 1976, before lecturing on the topic at the University of Birmingham for 20 years. Ranjit will talk about the complex construction of ethnic identity in 21st-century Britain.
As always, The Philosopher’s Yard provided a welcoming space for thoughtful dialogue and reflection. Whether you are well-versed in philosophy or simply curious, this is an opportunity to share perspectives and engage with others in a friendly, open environment.
