Existentialism and Absurdism Meet Up

  • Brig 54-57 Allison Street Birmingham, England, B5 5TH United Kingdom (map)

In this session, we delved into thought-provoking questions about Existentialism and Absurdism: How can we make our own meaning? What should we do when things don't make sense? How can we enjoy life despite it all? Here is the full list of questions.

This meetup featured a short talk from The Philosophers' Yard volunteer Dragos Necula, who has a long passion for the writings of Albert Camus, Samuel Beckett, and Friedrich Nietschze. In his talk, Dragos offered his perspective on how to find enjoyment in life not through narratives or fixed meanings, but through the quiet appreciation of everyday moments—conversation, sunlight, love—an approach rooted in the spirit of Camus.

The good June weather allowed us to end the meetup outside!

Whether a seasoned philosopher or simply someone who enjoys deep conversations, this was an opportunity to share our perspectives and listen to diverse viewpoints from fellow curious minds.

The event took place at BRIG Café at The Warehouse, located in the Birmingham city centre. The ambiance was perfect for connecting with others.

We look forward to seeing you there!
