In this session, we delved into thought-provoking questions about Logic and Intuition: Can you recall a time when you trusted your intuition, and it paid off? What’s a decision you’ve made recently using mostly logic? How do feelings shift your ability to access logic or intuition?
This meetup featured a short talk from Tom Peel, SEND Music Practitioner and the founder of Overhear, a geolocation-based audio app and arts organisation. He works at the intersection of music, education, and technology, designing creative projects that encourage curiosity, listening and connection. During his presentation, Tom shared insights drawn from Iain McGilchrist’s ideas on the hemispheres of the brain and how they shape our ways of attending to the world. His talk challenged the simplistic "right brain = creative, left brain = logical" narrative, exploring instead how the hemispheres work together in nuanced, complementary ways.
The event took place at BRIG Café at The Warehouse, located in the Birmingham city centre. The ambiance was perfect for connecting with others who, like you, were searching for deeper understanding and meaningful connections.
